I have long been concerned about the economic
disparity in the world. My husband and I sponsor three
children through Child World (formerly Christian
Children's Fund) and am interested in these children
being educated. I think micro loans for projects and
for savings is vitally important.
I think that we who are able to give should
help others help themselves. I decided to get involved
further after reading Nicholas Kristoff's column on
this program.

Putting myself thru 15 years of a medical education taught me all about saving and effort.
Twenty years into my practice, I was driven in to virtual bankruptcy.
It has been a struggle get back on my feet. Saving and industrious attitude is the formula for pulling oneself out of such a mire.
This is my small tribute, acknowleding what these people are trying to accomplish.
